An open letter to the 2024 college grad🎓✨
The things that nobody tells you when you enter the lovely season of post-grad life. Not to be a Debby downer but, it’s hard. Like really hard. Some of your friends will move across the country, some will go back to school and get a masters, some will get married & some will breakup. Talk about a huge life change… and some will start their careers…With taxes… and bills… and lots of unknown of what the future holds.
In my first year of post grad, the Lord truly pruned me. He made new wine out of a person that was broken & completely disoriented. He brought so many wonderful people to mentor me, and gave me an opportunity to truly get to know him!
It can be stressful & at times, just down right sad. But let me be a testament to each of you that you are going to make it. In the times where you have no clue what you are doing..the Lord will teach you.(Psalms 86:11-17). In the times where you miss your friends(3 of mine moved 1,000+ miles away) … the Lord will comfort you. (Isaiah 41:10) And in the times where all seems incredibly overwhelming… the lord will show his faithfulness. (2 Timothy 2:1-13)
Remember the game of comparison is not one you want to play. Not everyone has their dream job a month out… regardless of how much it seems to pop up on your feed. And no, you aren’t getting ready for a date party on a Thursday night with your best friends, but meeting your work friends for dinner is fun too!
Join a small group, meet new people, pick up a new hobby, and really dive into where God has planted you. The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it. If you’re waiting for a job or career opportunity … choose to wait well with the lord in the center.
He is such a GOOD & FAITHFUL God. When it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, he is your lantern to guide you to it.
Congratulations to each of you on graduating!!! Life is so much more fun when you choose to trust in him. Go into this season with blind faith and you’ll come out on the other side with a heart full of gratitude. 🤍✨
