I’m back with Part ✌🏽 of my senior session myth series…

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀…

As much as spring is a favorite season for senior pictures, there are some issues you may run into during these pretty spring months.

🌸 Timing can be tricky as you’ll be entering a very busy season of pre-graduation festivities like: senior recitals, college visits, prom, spring break, etc.

This can make pinning down a session date difficult and make a needed weather reschedule even more problematic.

🌸 Another issue related to timing is image & product delivery.

Editing your session images could take up to 3 weeks, and designing and delivery of any ordered products could take up to another 3 weeks on top of that.

So, if you’re wanting to have custom grad announcements and products like canvases, albums, or signature wall art showcased for your grad party, keep that in mind when booking your spring session date and opt for an early spring date instead of a later one.

🌸 Lastly, if you want to incorporate your college into your senior session...you likely won’t know until the Spring of your graduating year, so if that is a must for you, this season would be your go-to option.

If a spring session sounds perfect for you, you’ll want to contact me and book your session in the fall / winter of your Senior year – aka RIGHT NOW!

*Remember that this is the most popular season to book, so dates will sell out quickly. It’s best to book this season as early as possible.

CLASS OF 2025 SENIORS: If you haven’t booked your session yet and you’re wondering what to ask a photographer so you can know if they’re right for you, check this out!

Here’s 4 questions you should ask a photographer before you hire:

1️⃣ What is your client timeline? This way, you’ll know how long between the shoot and your product delivery is!

2️⃣ How far in advanced should I book my session? This will make sure that you’re able to complete the client timeline without rushing.

3️⃣ Do you offer a payment plan? This can help you pay for your experience over time instead of all at once!

4️⃣ Do they provide assistance with preparing for your session? This answer should help you realize if your photographer can give you the look you’re really looking for and make you feel comfortable the day of your session.

How to wear FALL TONES like the FALL LEAVES.

+ If you're just dipping your toe into warmer tones like rust, burnt orange, mustard, and acorn brown, anchor them with a classic fall solid like black or camel.

+ Wear fall colors in print. Find a dress or romper with a floral print in the tones you're looking to wear.

+ Jump right in! Trade in your pastels for shades of leaves and rock them from top to toe! Personally, my entire fall capsule wardrobe consists of camel tones and leopard ... that's it.

Senior session myth #1: OVERCAST SKIES aren’t good for your session.

So not true! Wanna know a little secret? It’s my FAVORITE light to shoot in! Why? Because the colors that it produces are GORGEOUS! When sunlight fills a camera lens, it can bleach out the colors in the frame. So when it’s overcast, the colors are super vibrant and true because there isn’t any bright light to mute the tones!

I also love shooting in overcast skies because the weather is a bit cooler, the light is a bit moodier, and it’s all around just plain fabulous! So if you wake up on your senior session day and it’s a bit overcast, no need to worry! The light will be PERFECT for your senior pictures!

Although I am enjoying my day off and relaxing; I’m excited for all of Class of 2025 seniors that I get to meet this year for senior portraits.

Quick: What would you do if you lost all your digital images?!? Think about it... all those times you pulled out your iPhone and took pics of you and your friends, just gone. 😱

Elevate your senior wardrobe instantly, the best way to do that is with LAYERS. As fall is peeking around the corner, consider what kind of layers you can incorporate into your upcoming senior session fashion options:

cardigans

vests

tights

jackets

knee high boots

scarves

When dressing in layers, keep the following in mind:

🍂 Play with layer lengths: don’t have all of your layer pieces end in the same line. Longer layers underneath shorter ones can create shape and elongate your body while shorter layers under longer ones can give you a super cozy fall look.

🍂 Compliment your colors: make sure that the shades and tones of your outfit are complementary and don’t clash too harshly. You can always play up your outfit with fun pops of colors and patterns or stay super chic with monotone shades that highlight each other.

🍂 Vary your textures: keep your layers interesting by using different textures in your outfit. Leathers can cozy up with suede and wool while denim can be accented with linens and silks.
