You needed to be replenished and cleaned, I know your not going to look the same. You become my home and the place I crave. Your extending arms have sheltered the animals, your rough edges, and endless life. Youāve provided, youāve entertained, youāve taught me. Iāve sat with you at the beginning of days and the end of days. Iāve sat under your shade and felt the strength of your hills. When I didnāt think there was more to discover about you I found that you had more places worth existing in. It didnāt matter how many times I looked at your seven sisters and sat by your glade, found flowers in your sweet Alice and some sheds too, hiked your dark canyon, and closed my eyes through your notch, traveled your bumpy John Black road to look over the Marcy. Watched elk run through your gooseberry. Hit golf balls off of your causeway and sat and just wondered at your beauty. Watched the sunset come across your Chippean. And watch the moon settle as the sun came to expose your quiet places in your Mormon pasture. Your towering ponderous sheltered me as I slept in your crystal springs. Caught goldfish in your magical goldfish pond. Hiked your pea vine and played on your golf course. As Iāve slept in your Kigalia and laid holding my breath as elk crept around eating your grass. Iāve traveled your horse mountain and envied your open spaces. And chased ghosts in your poison. Iāve watched you turn yellow in your oak patch and red cowboy canyon live and then die again. Savored your sun hitting the layers of your Alan canyon. Cried as I listened to Johnny cash twisting around your cottonwood remember the days I you with my traveled with my grandpa. Many bears watched in the your dark greens. And the rattle snakes we wonāt miss them, but our collection of your h***y toads became our favorite collection. I grew from a girl that didnāt understand your significance to a woman who treasured you so much I wanted my children to understand your splendor and be able to bask in very ounce of turn and climb. You have helped us feel free of this world and all of its expectations. A safe haven and an escape is what you provided. Home. And beyond. I pray I get to see the day you restored.
