I set out this weekend to explore a place I have never been before, I ended up at Wildhorse Creek in the Pioneer Mountains. I spent an evening and morning exploring the canyon and enjoying a bit of peace. It might take me a while to get through all of the photos, but this is the first one I finished. There is a hint of fall colors along the creek and I could tell some the trees were thinking about fall as well. One of the things I love about Idaho is no matter what direction you go, you always end up at a beautiful destination.

The beautiful Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park. We walked the trail from Artist Point to the Upper Falls area and this was my favorite vantage point. I intended to come back at a more compelling time of day but never made it back.

I hope you don't mind one more of Stanley Lake. I have had a little break from the field and have been going thru my images and reworking a few. This is one of my favorites of Stanley Lake. I have been chasing a photo here for a few years when the clouds are just right, this is as close as I have got. I love this place, my soul feels at peace in the Sawtooths.

Smith Rock State Park at sunset. My visit here was kind of last minute so I had no choice but to take the standard photo of the place 🙂. Someday I hope to return and hike to the top for some views. Very unique and beautiful rock formations.

My last photos from Alpine Lake in the Sawtooths. It's one of my favorites because it's fairly easy to get to and it's just so beautiful. You can't go wrong with a day trip or an overnight stay.
