Every time we make it through Independence, Texas, we love stopping to admire this beautiful historic church. ⛪️

We’re starting a little series showcasing the amazing history, landmarks, and hidden gems that make this small community so special. From the oldest Baptist church in Texas to the original home of Baylor University, Independence is full of stories waiting to be discovered.

Today’s stop: Texas Baptist Historical Museum a place filled with Texas history, faith, and heritage. Sam Houston himself once worshipped here, and the church dates back to 1839. Texas Baptist Historical Museum
