A lot has happened for the past couple years. I didn't have it in me, the gas, or the time to take the camera out. I made myself set the alarm and drove over an hour in the dark. It was freezing cold and the wind was blowing hard. To my dismay, the eastern sky was completely cloudless when I got there. Every other camera on the lookout was facing into the rising sun. That was a bust. I spun towards the north to catch the light hitting the mountains for just one brief moment before the hard light washed everything out.

No telescope so this is my simple contribution of 3 stacked sequential exposures (one for the moon, one for the clouds, and one for the star).

This was the tail end this morning. By the time I got the camera I took 3 shots and it was done.
