When I was an exhausted (yet passionate!) early education teacher I’d come to this part of Central Park with my camera and wonder what I should do next when I felt particularly overworked and underpaid. It took me a few more years to realize that marrying my interests of supporting child and family development, and photography in beautiful settings was it. I’m always excited to spend time in the conservatory garden, especially documenting this season of family life for sweet families. Anyone else career pivot to entrepreneurship? *If you go for a visit: there is ongoing construction until Sept 2022, though the northern portion of the garden remains open.

Maternity sessions have an excited buzzy feeling to them. It’s a uniquely special time in a woman’s life, on the precipice of a big life change for her, for the couple, and for the family. The feelings these photos capture is a mixture of love, joy, and excitement. I’m so grateful to Ash and Kristin for letting me photograph their maternity session at home in the East Village, and also for those 70° and sunny March afternoons 🌞
