Brooklyn ➡️ Northbrook

I haven’t posted anything personal on here for a long time, and it’s time to officially announce that I’ve relocated my business to Northbrook, Illinois while still serving the New York area as a secondary location! Olker Wedding Photo’s video team will remain New York based. I ❤️ NY and visiting for work or pleasure is something I’m always thrilled to do! I miss all of my clients and Central Park shoots!

Exactly one year ago today we relocated our family from New York to Illinois into a temporary living arrangement. It was an overwhelming and bittersweet time to close a chapter so dear to my heart. Now, we’ve purchased our first home and this move hits different because it’s nothing but excitement! We’re so privileged to be in this position and as a mom I’m so incredibly relieved to finally establish roots and community for my son! We’re looking forward to our future lifestyle in Chicagos North Shore 🏠💜🖤💛

My heart 💜 is so full and I love my clients!!! It was an honor to be hired by these lovely people and travel to Lake George, New York, and direct creative portraits in the most beautiful ⛰️ mountainous setting. Lake George was breathtaking and the weather held out lovely for the first look and creative portraits ❤️ For them, photography and being comfortable with their artist was a top priority… sometimes the strongest romantic bonds are best shared with four. ❤️ 🏳️‍🌈 Thank you for trusting me with your big day, your lifestyle and identity, and for taking me to one of my favorite scenic spots to visit in the country. I fully enjoyed the romantic and free flowing engagement shoot vibes with Abby and Dave . They’re a highly spontaneous couple that prioritizes adventure, laughs and living life to the fullest. Because of this we did a bunch of experimental slow shutter shots to create a visceral effect. The location they chose has tropical vibes via the style of plant life and waterfalls, and features a beautiful lagoon. I felt we were in a tropical space more than the big city in Chicago’s North Park Village Nature Center. The sun was shining and their shoot felt like a dreamy fairytale... specifically a fairy forest vibe. Abby has blue hair and colorful tattoos, and this location made her style pop. I loved this location, and hope to shoot there again soon! Thank you for hiring me, and I’m so delighted to be selected from the many to shoot your wedding next July!!!! I fully enjoyed meeting you both irl it was a pleasure to collaborate 💜💛🖤

Couples… when choosing your engagement location, always consider the type of stuff you and your partner like to do. Are you typically at home? Let’s shoot there! Do you love nature? I’ll help you choose a park or hiking trail. Do you love the city? Let’s shoot on the streets. If you two love a mix of city and nature, I ALWAYS recommend Central Park. It’s gorgeous and a consistent client pleaser!

Have I mentioned that I love line and shape? It’s a beautiful thing when they intersect and architecture is a great way to frame a photo. Can’t get more classic than the Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. I ❤️ NY

Spring is personally my favorite season here in New York bc I’m obsessed w vivid colors (hello 🌸!!!), and when helping my clients plan their session I always encourage them to consider what is unique in their relationship so we can incorporate that (w Courtney and Adam it’s their mutual passion for picnics and reading… scroll to see their adorable reading sesh) AND I also work to understand their favorite color palettes to help them choose the best season for shooting. We have big news! 🍼🤰🚨 📰 My partner and I are excited to announce we’re officially starting our family this Christmas with a baby boy! We’ve been together 14 years and dated for 7 before getting married, so it makes sense we needed another 7 to warm up to the biggest life transition - parenting. We can’t wait to meet him and are already in love 🥰… those little morning kicks ❤️

Feeling excited 😆 for the craziest, most demanding but fulfilling adventure yet. 🙌 I can’t believe it’s only two months away!
