This is Pati. She stopped by last night First Friday - Downtown Brownsville and provided this great opportunity for us to enjoy her iris. Although at first sight her eyes seem blue, a closer look let's us see that yellow dominates throughout. This color contrast allows us to appreciate the different layers in the fibers that make up her iris and her collarette. In her other eye, freckles were not observed prior to the session and therefore this eye was chosen to be photograph.

When comparing both your eyes, there will never be symmetry.

Vanessa (left) and David (right) stopped by First Friday to get an unforgettable memory as they approach their wedding. Both of them have brown eyes with Vanessa carrying a slightly red/orange tone. As seen here both their eyes are full of crypts and when put side to side are almost like they're a match 😉.

Time to introduce a new design: Color explosion 💥🎨.

Martin (left), Keyla (right), and their son Andre (last 2 pictures) stopped by the latest rendition of Brownsville's First Friday.

As you may notice, Martin leaves us with yet another impression of central heterochromia where the center part of his iris is hazel with the outer edges transitioning to yellow and blue-green. Textures throughout the collarette and a few crypts and freckles help make this eye an exceptional finding. Both Keyla and Andre show multiple crypts and very defined collarettes with their tonanility being light brown and brown. Andre has larger crypts and shows lighter pigmentation along the outer edges.

Iris photography has quickly become an alternative to a regular portrait for individuals, families, and friends looking get something unique to each person.

This is Alejandro and Faith. Perfectly balanced contrast helps make this yin and yang effect work. Faith's blue eyes have central heterochromia, nicely defined colarette and freckles. Alejandros'a brown eyes have thin crypts and a nicely defined collarette.

Kimberly and Alisha have an amazing contrast in the brown range, but both so full of textures in their own tone. One of the amazing things about iris photography is the ability to display that even dark brown eyes can have so many distinctive features as we can see with Alisha. What is great hear is though the tones contrast, their textures almost match with their collarettes stretching more on the lower part of the iris.

This is Gloria, her eye glows like the sun on a clear day. Yet another example of central heterochromia with yellow/amber on blue. Lots of textures with a clearly defined collarette, a few freckles, and thought there are few crypts, her fibers extend from the center to the edge like rays.

This is Rene (left) and Vianka (right). Rene has blue eyes with central heterochromia, in hazel to yellow that looks like the sun in the midday sky, with many crypts, a well-defined collarette, and even a small nevus (aka freckle). Vianka has a beautiful contrasting light brown tone that has a lot of crypts as well, complementing Rene's eyes and making it look like their eye is one when their halves are put together.
