It was exciting to learn that our film, "Salmon for Soldiers - Day of Honor" received "Honorable Mention" at the Cornerstone Short Film Festival. This film spot lights one of the many Veteran Service Organizations (VSO) that exists to help veterans, and active duty personnel, deal with the challenges of life, during, and after military service. What's amazing about many of these VSOs is that they are founded and run by veterans, which amplifies the idea that their service ethos and resiliency extends far beyond their military years. Huge thanks to all involved that helped to bring this project to light! This was fun!!!

What a weekend! More filming, more stories, more reconnections! It was so great for us to meet and get to know more of the 1-5 Cav family, and how their experiences helped to shape one of the most definitive times in military history. Amazing! Big shout out to the 1-5 Cav Black Knight Foundation for their tireless dedication to support the making of this series. The impact this effort is having is so immense. I also want to give a huge note of gratitude to Harry Giloley for opening up his space for us to film. Dude, quite simply - you rock!!!!

On June 20th, the Coalition Of Non Profits, powered by the Forever Captain Poodaman The Ahmad Butler Foundation, hosted an Expo at the PA Convention center. The day was designed to have many services available to the community - all under one roof, in a way where networking can happen amongst nonprofit organizations and residents can get access to the services they need. The day was also special cause the coalition honored longtime radio legend, Patty Jackson with a Lifetime Achievement Award. I'm always moved when regular people come together to do extraordinary things, and the event on the 20th was one of the things.

It's the ordinary people who face life's challenges head on and simply don't give up - no matter the age, that are life's heroes; and one of them was Jaxen Donnelly. At a very young age, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that required numerous operations and constant medical care. Yet, through it all, he battled and lived a life filled with remarkable courage, joy and love. I met Jaxen and his family two years ago, and had the honor of producing a small film about his journey. Last night I learned that he had passed. While my heart is broken, my resolve has deepened to support the Forever Captain Poodaman The Ahmad Butler Foundation and their efforts to raise awareness about the need for increased funding for pediatric cancer research. Jaxen was a fighter, his family are fighters, and if the connection we made means anything, I have to keep fighting as well. Rest easy, Jaxen. Your courage, your smile, and your spirit will never be forgotten.
