Sometimes people, without meaning to, can make photography feel like less of a "real" career. However, just this past week alone, I've had a few pieces of heart-shattering news from past clients that have weighed heavily on my heart, and they've really made me pause and reflect on the important work we do as photographers.

Children will hold onto their childhood because of your photographs. Parents will remember because of your photographs. Families will find comfort because of your photographs. Loved ones will be remembered because of your photographs.

Never underestimate the weight of the work you do.

You aren't selling photos; you're preserving the people we'll spend the rest of our lives missing.

You aren't creating content; you're creating the images families will one day call priceless.

You're not in the photography business; you're in the legacy business.

So the next time someone tells you or insinuates your job is "just a fun side gig," that it's "not a real job," or that it isn't a grind...

Remember that you are creating something that grows more valuable with time.

You are preserving moments people can never recreate.

You are creating the photographs people will hold onto when they need to feel close to someone they love.

And that matters.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again — being a twin parent is one of the most incredible, unique, exhausting, and joy-filled experiences.

When you meet another twin parent, there's an unspoken understanding. You instantly recognize the beautiful chaos, the constant juggling, and the indescribable privilege of raising two little souls who begin life side by side.

Photographing twin families will always hold a special place in my heart, but twin newborn sessions are especially meaningful. As new twin parents, you THINK you understand just how much your heart has grown the moment you welcome your babies into the world. But the truth is, you're only at the beginning. The depth of love that's about to unfold over the coming weeks, months, and years is something you can't fully comprehend until you live it.

Seeing those first days through an outsider's lens gives me a perspective that's hard to put into words. It always takes me right back to those early days with my own twins, and I'm so grateful I get to preserve these moments for other families beginning the same extraordinary journey 🤍

Little Miss Hailey gave me the most beautiful newborn session with her a year ago, and then gave me the absolutely sweetest 1-year milestone session. To say that I am beyond excited to share more from this sweet gallery would be a huge understatement!

A quick business update:

All final galleries (for those who have already sent back their image selections) have been completed, uploaded, and delivered! If you're waiting on yours, be sure to check your email. 😊

I'm currently working my way through all remaining proofing galleries, but please note that I'll be out of office from Wednesday evening through Monday morning. I'll be taking a little time away with family, so emails, editing, and gallery deliveries will pause while I'm gone and will resume when I return.

And one more thing—I only have TWO July Summer Mini Session spots remaining! ☀️ If you've been thinking about booking a family, maternity, milestone, or couples session, now is the time to grab one of the last spots before they're gone.
