Saturday evening I had the honor of capturing the wedding of Kevin and Ariel!

The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception might be the coolest venue I've got to photograph at yet!

Stunning bride, dapper groom, wonderful memories made as two were united in love. Doesn't get any better than that!

The champagne spray is probably my favorite image from their wedding, but the drone photo where the bride and groom are literally surrounded by love is pretty dang cool, not to mention unique!

The last image is from a session we had yesterday evening at the Parallel Forest in the refuge! Life got in the way of an engagement session, so they requested something the day after their wedding and I was happy to oblige. THAT LIGHT!!!! I caught that image as we were leaving, after telling them to drop what they were carrying because I simply could NOT let that beautiful light go to waste.

Many congrats you two, and thank you so much for trusting me to capture your big day!!!

Everybody else, smash that heart and comment on your favorite photo!

Saturday night, the 15th, my son pointed out this female wolf spider with a wagon load of babies on her back. Naturally, I ran for my camera and a flash. This is 48 images of this spider stacked together to create one, tack sharp photo of her and her crew.

How cool!

My wonderful sisters, Millie Gorshing and Jennifer Gorshing, finally got to watch their full video last night so here is the public version!

What a beautiful wedding venue at Pryor Place Event Center - Venue + Lodge, and an incredible celebration of love. THANK YOU ladies for trusting me with capturing the video of your BIG day. Wishing you all the love and joy through the years, and that this video is something you cherish when you're old and gray, as I know you will be together.

Edited to add: Summer Dutton was an absolute joy to work beside. She is an amazing wedding photographer and we absolutely vibed together and fed off each other's ideas. Sooo, if you're in the market for a power photography and videography team... reach out!

Okay, sooo, you probably want a contest winner, right?? Right!

The number of images I take during a wedding is dictated by the amount of coverage asked for, and the length of the wedding. Not all weddings are created equal. Some are super elaborate, and others seem simple to those looking for luxury and holding nothing back. That doesn't mean simpler weddings lack elegance or are lesser than their pricey counterpoints, as showcased in the few images I've released of last weekend's wedding. Its just a matter of taste, priorities, and budget. Kyla and Carl had a wonderful reception that included fellowship with friends and family, and the cutting of their cake. I wasn't packing gear up at midnight or later (I've done so and will do it again) so my total image count wasn't too crazy. What IS crazy about the number is that it was EVEN! Wow!

And the winner of the FREE mini session guessed the EXACT number! 🤯🤯

When I replied to your guess it was all I could do not to say GUUUURRRLL YOU GOT IT, instead of great guess! So congrats Jennifer Gorshing for guessing 1200! Can hardly wait to see what we come up with!

To those who didn't win, don't worry, shoot me a message for a special discount on a summer session!!

Congrats again to the beautiful newly weds, our winner, and thank you to every one who guessed!

Still recovering from yesterday's stunning wedding 🤩🔥

Kyla and Carl absolutely knocked it out of the park, and this is only the sneak peek of what we captured together yesterday.

Now for a little fun...

At the end of the wedding day, how many photos do you think I had taken? From quiet moments to absolute chaos, I documented all of it. 👀📸

Closest guess wins a FREE mini session!

When you have so many keepers from a prom session you can't just do a simple Sneak Peek and you end up editing 15 images haha! (there are SO many more keepers, too)

Little miss Rosie was shining like a diamond around this '66 Chevy Impala, and what a fun session we had!

Which image(s) has you wishing you had booked me for your daughter's or young couple's pre prom session??

While fishing this morning with my good buddy and coworker, Brian Eyster, we witnessed something truly spectacular.

Allow me to set the scene for you. It's about ten or so minutes till 8 a.m. The wind was ripping across Fort Cobb Lake, so we eased on up a partially sheltered cove, heading towards a point we've both caught fish on in the past. I can see an osprey up in a tree. I mention to Brian that I hope it stays still so I can photograph it when we get closer. Naturally, it does not.

While fishing up the cove we notice the osprey is repeatedly dive bombing the water at the point we are heading to. I'm beside myself because we are yet too far away for my 200-500mm telephoto lens to capture anything beyond an impression of a bird of prey.

This goes on for a minute, and a much larger bird of prey comes in from behind and watches the osprey as it finally rises from the water with a hybrid bass in its talons. I'll be damned if they aren't heading STRAIGHT toward us on the boat, too! I'm reeling in my line like a madman, Brian is saying "throw down your pole you better hurry!"

I do just that after getting my lure out of the water, sn**ch up my camera, make some super quick adjustments, and go to firing away. Alas, they mostly stayed too far away for me to capture much detail, but as they flew closer it became apparent the larger bird was a bald eagle who was QUITE insistent that the osprey must pay a tax by giving up its catch. Which it did. We watched it play out, saw the fish fall from the sky and splash into the water, and watched the two majestic birds fish for the next hour just off the point on the other side of the cove from us. The osprey and bald eagle each caught something at some point, as did Brian and I, and they finally went on their way.

The first image is just the osprey. If it will let you zoom in you can tell it is a hybrid bass, that very likely weighs close to the same as the bird itself. The next two you can see a glimpse of the chase, and the difference in size between these two birds of prey. That bald eagle is an adolescent transitioning to adulthood. I'd guess it to be 4 years old. It will have solid white head and tail feathers after it molts next.
