This past spring and summer, Sundays meant church and "Sunday Hikes" for the Banowetz family.

The kids all got their own hiking boots and Camelbaks and snacks for every mile. 😉 We explored all kinds of new parks and trails all around Iowa, and we trained for our highly anticipated summer vacation to Colorado. There, we climbed Mt. Sniktau (a 13er) with the kids on what is my all-out favorite day ever as a family.

Those landscapes inspired these pieces.

This past spring, Brian tilled up a portion of our yard and planted a prairie mix. Prairie grasses don't look amazing for several years, so he threw in some wildflower annual mixes as well for this year, and the kids LOVED picking me four bouquets of flowers each week.

I owned zero bud vases, so the kids filled random cups and water bottles and decorated our table with Nalgenes of wildflowers. 😆 Hence, the bud vase project was born... 😉

At our house, December is basically the best month ever because each day the kids get to pull a tab which tells them something fun or Christmasy to do.

One of the kids' very favorite days each year is the "Eat Dinner By Candlelight" tab. We embrace the dark by 5 thing and eat exclusively by candlelight.

One of my favorite "little joys" of winter is wrapping up in a blanket with a hot cup of coffee in my hands.

It's only better when there's a friend to share it with (and maybe a handmade mug to drink from... ;)).

When my kids can't find me, they've learned to come out to the garage... It's been my happy place as I've thrown and fired things over that past few weeks! 😉

Nativities (I've got two currently!) are now sharing space with a whole lot of ornaments!

I've truly almost cried making some of these as I've remembered my kiddos' favorite blankets and lovies while I work on Baby's First Christmas ornaments and one to commemorate those 2021 babies that are missing from our arms but forever in our heart.

There are a few gals holding Starbucks mugs to perhaps pair with a gift card for coffee (teacher gift? DONE! ;)) and some fun, quirky ornaments like a fisherman and the sweetest pup.
