The thing most camera-shy professionals don’t realize?
The problem isn’t you. It’s that nobody is directing you.

When no one tells you what to do, you default to something that feels natural. But what feels natural usually looks stiff on camera.

Small adjustments change everything:

→ Chin forward and down
→ Body angled, not straight-on
→ Shoulders dropped
→ Full exhale before each frame
→ Think of someone you genuinely like

That last one matters more than you’d expect. The camera catches the difference.

You don’t need to love the camera. You just need someone who knows how to coach you through it.

Today is my DeltaVersary!! 38 years ago today, on the campus of James Madison University, 12 young ladies became members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Iota Alpha Chapter). I feel so blessed to be forever connected with each of them.

I am sending love and hugs to all of my line sisters and always thinking about and missing my beloved line sister Lisa who transitioned to glory last year. I also want to take a moment to honor the big sisters who made us, especially my dean Glynis Legrand and my adp Tonza Exum. Sending love to all of the sorors I have met and bonded with along the way…I feel so blessed and grateful.

Yes, I’m going to be posting pictures today and celebrating one of the most life changing decisions I ever made.
