Spent nearly the entire day yesterday picking, shucking & freezing corn! 112 ears put in the freezer yesterday & I should have more to pick by next week! I told Ryle next year he won’t get to nap through all of the work & he will have to help earn his keep- peep the last photo to see his reaction 😉

I read something in a devotional early this year that spoke volumes to me. That even in a perfect & sinless world, God still placed Adam in the Garden to tend to it. We are called to be stewards of the land.

Each year, I tend to neglect my garden. I get overwhelmed and honestly just exhausted & lazy with it. But after reading that, I knew I wanted to be sure I was very mindful of it this year. Changing my perspective from “work is a curse” to “viewing work as worship”. Work wasn’t created a result of sin. We were called to work before sin was commited. I’m far from being a great steward of our land but have been enjoying it so much more this year with a new perspective & the cutest little helper (who tries to eat all of our corn raw 🤣)

Standing firm on teaching our boys these important things;

-Hardwork is required in whatever you do. Get your hands dirty.

-Your word is the most valuable thing you can give. If you say you’re going to do something, you do it.

-Be kind. It makes life so much easier and more fun when you spread kindness to others any chance you get. Help people in need. Give compliments. Show compassion.

-It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. This is a big one for me. My dad always told me this growing up. You can have all of the knowledge in the world, but if you aren’t kind to others and cultivate relationships, your knowledge is worthless.

-College isn’t a requirement. As long as you have a good work ethic, you don’t need a degree to be successful. Neither my husband nor I have a college education & we’ve managed to do great for our family. However, there’s been a lot of blood, sweat & tears poured into our success, but it has been worth every moment.

-Last but definitely not least- Pray EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Open your bible. No matter how simple or complex life is. Build your foundation FIRM in Faith.

All I can think when I see that ring is “Hot dog, Jake! Look at the size of that thang!” Bonus points if you can guess the movie 😂 it’s a favorite of mine.

Jasmin has been like a sister to me since we’ve been in Junior High (we don’t need to discuss the number of years 😅🤣) and getting to take these engagement photos for her was so incredibly special to me. I’m so thankful she has found someone great that adores her for all that she is. 🤍 so excited to celebrate them tying the knot in just few months!!
