Sideways Digital Media is the name for samples of videos and photos Cam Carithers has ben a part of. Cam Carrithers is a video director/producer/editor. He has produced projects for washingtonpost.com, rollingstone.com, Merge Records, MTV, ABC, and a Fulbright-sponsored documentary in Grahamstown, South Africa, and others. He teaches video production throughout his community and in 2011 he was an
instructor at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. Cam works as a still photographer as well for various publications and does photography postproduction. His photographs have appeared in publications including washingtonpost.com, USA Today, The Associated Press, Transworld Snowboarding Magazine, UNC Global, Carolina Alumni Review Magazine, and others. He graduated with a BA from the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication in visual communication, attended the the School of Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder in Advertising, and he received an AA from Colorado Mountain College. His career began after a picture editing internship at National Geographic Adventure. In 2013, Cam won first place in the Carolina Global Center Photography Exhibit, a William Randolph Hurst Award while attending the University of North Carolina, and many others over the years.
