I was told I needed to take a vacation, but my vacations are never without some form of work.

During my time here, I’ve had the opportunity to do a lot of work on myself and really ask myself, “who is it that I want to be in this world?” “How do I want to present myself?” “What standards do I hold myself to?” “What are my priorities?” “How can I continue to better myself as an individual?”

All of this contemplation and thinking just to come to the conclusion that I simply have to trust fall into my faith that all of the parts of my life are going to work out as they should. It is not easy for me. I am practicing.

Today, I encourage you all to remember that self reflection is one of the best ways to make positive changes in your life. Through everything if you don’t know yourself, who does?

I’m three weeks late with this post, but I had such a great time facilitating “My Place in Race” this time around!!

Not only is co-facilitating with my mother always a lovely experience, but we had an amazing group of students. This time, the students we were working with chose to focus on the impact of inappropriate racial jokes when looking at different roles in social change. Taking on a topic that they have experienced or heard about within their own schools. Definitely a powerful day.
