Having been a bride myself, I can honestly and unbiasedly say that my photos were the most important (vendor-related) part of my wedding day. Because although my wedding day is over, my beautiful photographs hang on my wall to remind me of what a special day it was! It brings me so much joy to photograph people, especially on their wedding day! I love to know my couples. Like, really know them. I

want to walk in on your wedding day and give you a big giddy hug, and let's be honest, I'll probably squeal just as loud as your bridesmaids when I see you in your dress for the first time. That's why I love meeting couples beforehand, whether for a coffee/wine date or for an engagement session. Photography is more than just images to me, it's about the relationship. When I really know you, I can take photos that really feel like you. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you deserve a great photographic experience. I'm passionate about wedding photography not just for arts sake, but because I want to provide each and every one of my couples with images they will cherish for the rest of their lives. I still get nervous butterflies before each wedding, and I've always told myself that the first time those butterflies don't show up before a wedding day, that's when I'll know to call it quits. In the summer, I feel like Kiawah is my second home (and if you've been to Kiawah, you know I'm not upset about that!). Just driving onto the island feels like stepping into vacation. I do so many extended family sessions out here, because it feels like a second home to so many families as well. Families tell me all the time that they started coming to Kiawah 5, 10, 15 years back, and have returned every year, because it's a place of happiness for their families to gather.

Come with me behind-the-scenes of unboxing a piece of wall art! I’ve loved photographing this family over the years, and I’m so excited for them to have this wall art piece from their latest family session. They ordered three beautiful frames from their newborn session, so this will join those images on the wall!

For their newborn session, we chose images to frame that were artistic and candid. For this session, Juliana and Taylor wanted to recreate portraits they have of their families from when THEY were young. I love that they’ll now have a mix of story-telling and more traditional images hanging on their walls!

Heirloom products are such an amazing way to bring my clients' visions to life. Knowing that they will get to walk past these images every day makes the whole process that much more special and meaningful.

I know family sessions can feel like a lot sometimes. Outfits picked, hair combed, finding the missing shoe on the way out the door, hoping everyone cooperates and we get a few smiles in between. 😂

But honestly, none of that is what you’ll remember later.

That’s why I always tell families to just be together and let go of “perfect.” The best photos always happen in the in-between moments anyways!!

And when those memories are printed in an heirloom album instead of sitting on a hard drive, they actually get to live in your home and your story for years. That’s the part I love most. 🤍

Josh told Lizzy they were just going for a sunset walk on the beach before dinner... but instead, he surprised her with a proposal. 🥹🤍

We stood on the beach afterward, looking through their photos together and reliving it all while the excitement was still so fresh.

Now they have an heirloom album on its way to them, and I couldn't love that more!! These moments deserve SO much more than a folder on your computer. They deserve a place in your home where you can revisit them for years to come.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to photograph other mamas. And when that mom is a photographer? Such an honor.

Michelle spends so much of her life behind the camera, capturing memories for other families, so being the one to document these moments for her family at Isle of Palms was such an honor.

A few weeks after I delivered her gallery and heirloom album, she sent me the sweetest video.

Her little boy was sitting at the kitchen table with their brand new album, slowly turning each page. As he looked through the photos, he started talking about that evening... remembering playing in the sand, running on the beach, and everything they did together. 🥹

I don't think Michelle even realizes how much that video meant to me.

It was one of those moments that reminded me exactly why I care so much about printing your photos.

Because years from now, your kids aren't going to scroll through an old phone looking for their favorite memories. They're going to pull an album off the shelf and remember what it felt like to be there.

Those are the things that last.

I'm so grateful I get to create images that don't just live in a gallery online, but become part of a family's home and story. And getting to do that for another photographer? That makes it even more special. 🤍

This summer has been the summer of surprise proposals, and I've been loving every minute of it. 🥹🤍

One of my favorite parts is getting to text back and forth with the person proposing, hearing all about their relationship, getting excited with them, and helping plan every little detail so the surprise goes off without a hitch.

Then I get to stand back, camera in hand, and watch one of the happiest moments of their lives unfold. It truly never gets old, and I'm so thankful I get to be a small part of these forever memories.

You’ve put in time preparing for your family session. Putting together outfits, getting the littles dressed, and taking a day out of your schedule.

You’ve done the hard work. Now let me do the rest.

Instead of letting all the planning and hard work end up with images that live on your computer hard drive, let’s put those beautiful images on your wall, where you can walk past them every day. In an heirloom album, where you can cuddle up with your kids on the couch and flip through it.

These are the heirlooms you will pass down to your children one day. And today, when your children walk past their family photos? They will feel the love and joy that you’ve created together.

Mary + Nico are ENGAGED! ✨

I loved being part of their proposal on Isle of Palms this past week. The sunset showed up for them in the most beautiful cotton-candy way. Nico had told Mary they were headed to the beach for an anniversary picnic, so she thought nothing of the fact that they were walking out to the beach with a blanket and picnic basket. Little did she know, Nico had the ring box hidden underneath the blanket.

After setting up the blanket, Mary turned to pour them both a drink. Nico took the opportunity to get down on one knee. When she turned around, she realized that this was no ordinary anniversary picnic :)

I never take for granted that I get to be part of such a special moment in a couples' story, and I’m always grateful for the opportunity to document this little moment in time!

There is something so timeless about an heirloom newborn session. 🤍

These are some of my favorite images to create because they focus on the tiny details that change far too quickly; the soft cheeks, delicate lashes, wispy hair, and sweet expressions you'll never want to forget.
