going thru some of my shots and came across this gem i always forget about. this shot is from the time i drove thru independence pass to go meet my gf at the time at the albuquerque hot air balloon festival. I stopped in telluride co to camp for the night. i’m an experienced backpacker and my imagination to this day still freaks me out when camping alone in the woods, it’s like every sound is something that wants to mess with you 🤣. the wind was so bad that night my tent kept folding in on me so i drove over it and slept in the car half way thru the night 😅. the first pic is of downtown. the second pic is of a cabin from the old mining town up there i camped at which is also the location of the worlds first long distance transmission of alternating current electricity!

This is another shot of an aspen grove in Colorado. Another fun fact about aspen groves is, unlike other trees, it is all one singular organism that shares one massive root system underground that will lay dormant for years before coming to the surface as an aspen tree.

This is a wide shot pic of the largest aspen grove in Colorado, Kebler pass. During the summer when this pass is open it makes the trip from glenwood canyon to crested butte about 2.5 hours vs 6 hours in the winter when it’s closed
