FocalGroove Solving Business Problems with Strategic Creativity

“What conversations changed the way you think about your business?”

For Shrop, founder and CEO of FocalGroove, one of the biggest lessons has been this:

“You need to specialize and focus on your business. Don’t try to be everything for everybody.”

That mindset has shaped not only FocalGroove, but also the purpose behind The Groove Studio.

The studio was never meant to be just another room with microphones. It was built for founders, experts, creators, and business owners who have something specific to say and need the space, strategy, and support to say it well.

Over the past year, we’ve seen that clarity come to life through podcasts, marketing videos, founder-led content, client stories, community events, and conversations that help people better understand what they do, who they serve, and why it matters.

As The Groove Studio turns one, we’re celebrating the conversations that sharpened ideas, strengthened brands, and reminded us that focus is what makes a message powerful.

Here’s to one year of helping people find their voice, own their expertise, and stop trying to be everything to everybody.

“What made you finally hit record?”

For Mary Elizabeth Murphy, host of the RESET Your Buttons podcast, the answer came down to making the process easier, more professional, and less overwhelming.

Before recording at The Groove Studio, Mary Elizabeth and her team had already tried tackling podcast production on their own, and like many people, they ran into the technical challenges that come with recording, setup, sound, video, and production.

Her words say it best:

“You took the challenges of the technical side of everything out of it. You made it easy, and you made it professional.”

Mary Elizabeth is the CEO and owner of S.T.A.R. Resources, author of RESET Your Buttons, and a trusted expert in team dynamics, development, leadership, and workplace productivity. With nearly 30 years of experience helping individuals and organizations earn more, achieve more, and produce more, she had the message, the expertise, and the vision.

The Groove Studio helped make the recording process feel simple enough to start and professional enough to keep going.

As we celebrate one year of The Groove Studio, we’re grateful for clients like Mary Elizabeth who use this space to share meaningful conversations, practical wisdom, and messages that help people grow.

Because sometimes, the biggest thing standing between you and your podcast is not the idea.

It is the setup.

What does community mean to you?

It looks like business owners sharing ideas, creators finding their voice, clients becoming friends, and conversations that continue long after the cameras stop rolling.

The Groove Studio was built inside the Flywheel community, and over the past year, that community has helped shape what this space has become.

It is more than a podcast studio.

It is a place for stories, strategy, creativity, connection, and the kind of conversations that help people grow.

As The Groove Studio turns one, we’re celebrating the people who made year one what it was: Flywheel members, clients, event attendees, business owners, and friends who showed up, hit record, and became part of the story.

Thank you for helping us build something that feels bigger than a room with microphones.

And every conversation that continued long after the cameras stopped rolling.

To the creators, founders, teams, guests, and supporters who have been part of this first year: thank you for bringing the groove to life.

“Just get over yourself and do it.”

That was 's advice for anyone thinking about starting a podcast, and honestly… it might be the reminder a lot of people need.

Andy is the pastor of in Concord, NC, and he first used The Groove Studio for marketing videos. Now, he and his team are using the studio for their podcast, Into the Woods.

His advice is simple: there will always be obstacles, and there will never be a perfect time to start.

The microphone might feel intimidating.
The schedule might feel busy.
The first episode might feel awkward.

But the only way to build confidence, clarity, and consistency is to start.

As we celebrate one year of The Groove Studio, we’re thankful for clients and friends like Andy who are using this space to share real conversations, meaningful stories, and messages that matter.

Here’s to getting over yourself, hitting record, and starting anyway.
