364 days ago, F & A promised forever in an intimate ceremony, just 15 days after Hurricane Helene. Their plans for Lake Lure had shifted, and while their wedding didn’t happen there on that day, love still found its place.

Now, nearly a year later, we finally get to go to Lake Lure. It does not look quite like the place we all remember. It is forever changed. But there is a new kind of beauty here. In the resiliency. In the rebuilding. The same kind of strength that carries a marriage through its own seasons and storms.

Today we get to celebrate F & A with all their people in Lake Lure, and it feels like the most beautiful full circle.

Their wedding day unfolded just one day after Hurricane Helene swept through Western NC. With no cell service, gas stations running out of fuel, and entire communities reeling, we weren’t even sure we’d be able to reach them.

It was one of those weekends that reminds you just how much a wedding doesn’t exist in a bubble. Life was heavy. There was heartbreak in the air. And still, these two held onto each other and moved forward with such grace, grounding the day in love, gratitude, and joy.

We love them more than words can say. And nearly nine months to the day, we’re still thinking about how they turned a storm into something that felt warm, electric, and deeply human.

There’s something about the getting ready part of the day that feels a little suspended in time. It’s quiet but charged, full of nerves and excitement and all the little moments you’ve been dreaming about for months finally coming to life.

You’ve spent so much time choosing the details—your dress, your jewelry, the people by your side. Making space in your timeline to slow down and soak in this part of the day isn’t just about the photos (though yes, they’re always some of our favorites). It’s about honoring the beginning of it all.

Because before the vows and the celebration and the dancing, there’s this: a deep breath, a gentle zip, and a look from your mom like she’s seeing every version of you all at once. And it deserves to be remembered too.

We’ve had the joy of photographing all three siblings’ weddings in this amazing family (yes, all of them!), and somehow each one has felt like its own beautiful chapter. But this one? This one hit a little different.

From the proposal to the engagement session to the wedding day itself, we’ve been along for the full ride with these two. And by the time they were lacing up their running shoes (yes, in full wedding attire), we were already wiping away tears from behind our cameras.

Getting to be there for moments like these—big and small, silly and sacred—is something we’ll never take for granted. This day was full of heart and full of joy.

We spent the afternoon bopping around downtown Asheville with these two and immediately bonded over our shared love of quality (read: chaotic) reality TV. At one point we all laughed about how Jesse always dramatically announces “this is the final rose”… 😂

They swear Bachelor in Paradise is peak trash TV — and honestly, they might be right.

This day was sun-soaked, salty, and full of so much love. Watching these two promise forever by the ocean was an absolute dream —and such a beautiful reminder that love, in every form, is worth celebrating.

Got to spend a beautiful morning with Victoria and Rashad in Uptown Charlotte earlier this week. There were so many giggles that their connection was palpable. They made our job so easy despite them constantly reminding us that they’re “so awkward at photos.” We feel so lucky to be able to photograph their wedding in 366 days! We can’t wait 🤍

PS. We know it’s been approx 4 months since we posted last but we promise we’re out here surviving! I like to think that our insta absence shows that we’ve been keeping ourselves busy! When fall season calms down, we’ll be sharing all the updates and work we’ve been up to, promise!
