I have been shooting photos since 1959, when I served in the Army in Germany. One of my buddies took me into a wet darkroom, on post, and I haven't put a camera down since. I shot with Nikon for almost 40 years, mostly with film and almost only in Black and White. So I have worked with Nikon, Lumix, Fujifilm and today I use the OM system.
I am going to use this site to educate and inform some of what I have learned in over the 60 years I have been taking pictures. First thing is that the first ten years are mostly trash, but I still keep them to understand how far both me and the film industry have come. The equipment I have today the OM-5 and m 4/3 lens are so much better than the equipment I started out with. Todays cameras are almost all good, and if you have a question about a camera, you can find reviews and instructions on Youtube.
I shoot in RAW and decide if I am going to process it as a color image or in B&W. I have my viewfinder turned to b&w, as that is how my eye was trained to see film. Sometimes though color in an image is why you took the photo. My images are not beautiful, but show the world I live in. I shot for two weekly news papers for ten years, so I am mostly interested in people doing something.
Here is a photo that shouts out the use of color. A man painting.
