What’s the one thing I simultaneously love and hate on a wedding day?

Changing light. As a photographer it’s our responsibility (and maybe the main one) to find, use, and manipulate light. And on a wedding day? That is constantly shifting.

With a full day of coverage you are usually getting at least five different lighting scenarios, and you have to be prepared. A quality wedding photographer is constantly thinking on their feet, planning out the next lighting scenario, and working with any curveballs handed to them.

I loved the harsh shadows while getting ready with Megan at the Ramble. The interplay between the harsh light and deep shadow creates a modern, editorial look that I love.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a more perfect “first look” spot than the bar at The art deco-esque vibe for perfectly for Anna and Brian’s modern and stylish wedding this past August. And when you add in the film photos? The epitome of *timeless* 😍

When it comes to posing with your wedding party, the sillier the better, imo. I always try to get a quick formal one for posterity, but after that the more you goof off with each other the better. Channel your inner Bridesmaid movie poster, or album cover 👯⚡️

Or better yet, schedule extra time and let me set your group up in a Vanity Fair centerfold style. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about… now is the time to find out! It never hurts to brainstorm the style of wedding party photos you want before the big day. ✨
