One of my favorite trends that's popped up in the 2020s is giving your wedding party a color/fabric/guideline/etc and then letting them pick the actual clothing they're wearing. It's a phenomenal way to stay coordinated and matching while making sure everyone feels confident in their clothes!

I find wedding party photos come out best when this is how outfits are decided. It allows everyone to feel confident and not spend the whole day fidgeting and dreaming about changing when they get home.

I recently learned there are new versions of the Cha-Cha Slide with more verses and more hops. Kids these days have to hop SEVEN times, not just five!

Candlelit receptions at Veritas are always spectacular. While the parties here can go all night, it makes me think about before electricity when all parties were by candlelight. I once heard a story about a regency era aristocrat who put short candles in her chandeliers so they would melt quickly and all the guests would leave early. Totally would never do this at a party I hosted... 😶‍🌫️🙂‍↕️

Colonial Williamsburg is full of so many nooks, crannies, and pathways I don't think I'll ever discover them all (and that's okay). 🗺 I'm so glad we braved the mosquitos and followed a mossy staircase up to this glowing alcove.

Making fellow industry friends is so fun, especially when we overlap in multiple communities. Carrington makes stunning and delicious vegan, gluten free, nut-free, and overall allergy-friendly desserts. For those of us lucky enough to eat anything, you'd never tell that any of the "traditional" ingredients were gone.

Anyways, if you haven't tried her baked goodies, you are missing out!! If my last dessert was one of these chocolate raspberry mousse shooters, I would die satisfied.

I am loving the custom embroidery shoe trend! I've seen custom wedding Docs, Keds, and now Converse. As someone who wore orthopedic sandals to her own wedding (they have pearls and look fancy!) I am all about mixing comfort with beauty.

Do they make custom Blundstones? Inquiring minds (me) need to know.
