2016 was the year I accidentally ruined my life in the best possible way.
I had just started shooting concerts and somewhere between dark venues, blown highlights, and that electric feeling of being right where I was supposed to be, I realized this wasn’t a hobby. This was it. I wanted to learn, grow, fail loudly, and keep showing up with a camera no matter what.
It was also the year I got divorced, met Piper’s father, and lost my grandfather. So yes… big feelings. Endings and beginnings stacked on top of each other, grief sitting shotgun while hope drove anyway.

I made dramatic little composites on my iPhone. I photographed people, ideas, emotions, whatever caught my eye. I said yes before I felt ready and figured it out as I went.

Looking back, I didn’t have a plan, but I had instinct. And curiosity.

2016 was messy, creative, heartbreaking, brave, and weirdly beautiful.
