Catching the massive Carnival Sunshine gliding past the historic Lambert's Point coal piers in Norfolk, VA right at sunrise. The sheer scale of this ship up close is unreal!

Please pardon the low altitude of the drone pictures this morning. They were taken by my Nikon Z7 drone.

Two ship's and some tugs passing the old Portsmouth Marine Terminals on Sunday June 14.

Early morning traffic on the Elizabeth River. The Maltese-flagged bulk carrier Strandja cruises past the historic Lambert's Point coal piers in Norfolk, VA just as the sun breaks. The scale of marine commerce here is unreal.

I've seen some local drone pilots not exactly following all the rules and we have a huge harbor event coming. There is a temporary flight restriction centered on the Norfolk waterfront from the 19th to the 24th. It's a huge area marked around the center of Crawford bay with a radius all the way down to the degaussing piers. It's circular so it covers a lot of Portsmouth. Do not attempt to fly a drone in that area during that time. Violating a TFR can get you arrested, not just fined and when a TFR like this is up, they will be monitoring. Please just don't do it. Check your charts and don't rely on DJI to tell you where you can take off. DJI doesn't keep track of TFR's.

Was down there again for another job yesterday. Got a few more pictures on the way back.

The Crofton crew starting the day early. Watch the twin-screw push boat Huntsman rolling down the river before sunrise, getting in position for the day's marine construction work. Listen to those engines!
