In collaboration with Harlowe and Central Studios, the experience continued beyond the talk with an open Q&A and live portrait session, giving every attendee the opportunity to step in front of Mark’s camera.

Powerful portraits don’t always require complicated lighting.

For this black-and-white portrait series, photographer Joseph M Ford focused on something more important than the setup itself: emotion.

Subtle expressions, controlled shadows, and carefully shaped highlights create a quiet, cinematic quality that allows each frame to feel intimate and intentional.

The entire series was created with a simple three-light setup:
