I almost didn’t post this.

The past month has been emotionally and mentally hard. Took a break from my personal IG, but kept the business one up since business never stops even when you’re at your wits end. Even then, I suck at posting.

I’m not someone who craves visibility — I became a photographer to observe, not to be observed (through social media). But staying quiet felt like the wrong choice.

Because this matters more than my discomfort.

The q***r community deserves more than one month of visibility and support. They deserve allies who show up consistently, year-round. Who use their platforms, their voices, their spaces to amplify q***r people. Who make it clear that belonging isn’t seasonal.

So what does that look like?

Hire q***r creatives. Amplify q***r voices. Make your space safe and keep it safe. Speak up. Show up in the small moments, not just the loud ones. Support q***r-owned businesses.

Being an ally isn’t about performing in June. It’s about consistent action, even when nobody’s watching.

To all q***r people: I see you. I love you. I’m here for you — not just this month, but every month. Always.

And if you’re someone who doesn’t agree nor respect that, there’s no room for you at Tethered Stories ✌🏼

Still obsessing over the details of Bailey and Ryan’s wedding at .arbory

The ceremony space is simple but completely elegant — my favorite feature are the skylights along the aisle! Natural light pouring in, acting like a spotlight, right where they said their vows and did their first kiss. 🥹

This space has so much character. Exposed brick, string lights, warm wood. Very Chicago.

Don’t even get me started with the florals!! They just brought so much magic and romance into the room. Every table, every corner. You felt it.

These are the details you spent months carefully choosing — from color palettes to the carefully chosen blooms, every flicker of candlelight, every little thing that made the room feel like yours. Details sets the mood of your wedding album.

That’s worth remembering.

That’s worth documenting.

That’s part of the whole story.

My hot take on shot-lists 😗

Photographers are natural observers.

When you give them a list, they stop feeling the room — and the room is EVERYTHING.

The photos that make you fall apart at your gallery reveal are never the ones you planned. They’re the ones that happened in the corner of the room, in between the schedule, when nobody was looking.

The formals will happen. The family portraits will get done. But the magic needs room. Let the day breathe.
