سالها پیش مجموعه عکسی را با عنوان «ترانههای کوچک غربت: شناور در میان» آغاز کردم. بخش اول عنوان این مجموعه را از شعرهای احمد شاملو الهام گرفتم و بخش دوم بازتابی است از زندگی شخصیام در میانهی غربتها—غربتی که من و همنسلانم با گوشت و پوستمان لمس کردهایم، بیآنکه هرگز سرزمینی را خانهی خود بیابیم.
در این مجموعه، تلاشم بر آن بوده که رنجی را که طی بیش از ۴۵ سال بر ذهن و جان زن ایرانی گذشته، به شکلی تصویری به نمایش بگذارم. هیچکدام از این تصاویر نه با فتوشاپ ویرایش شدهاند و نه با هوش مصنوعی ساخته شدهاند. بلکه عکسهایی هستند که در سالهای زندگیام در ایران گرفتهام و بعدها آنها را با استفاده از ویدیوپروژکتور بر بدن مدلها تابانده و دوباره عکاسی کردهام.
آنچه در اینجا میبینید گزیدهایست از این مجموعه؛ تصاویری که دوستشان دارم و این پروژه همچنان ادامه دارد.
"Little Songs of Exile: Floating in the Between"
Many years ago, I began the photo series “Little Songs of Exile: Floating in the Between.” The first part of the title was inspired by the poetry of Ahmad Shamlou; the second part reflects my own life, suspended in the midst of exile. It speaks to an experience that my generation and I have deeply felt—an ache lived through skin and bone, yet never truly anchored to a homeland.
Through this work, I’ve tried to express the enduring pain carried in the minds and souls of Iranian women over the past 45 years. None of the images in this series are photoshopped or created with artificial intelligence. Instead, I used a video projector to cast photographs I had taken during my years in Iran onto the bodies of models, then re-photographed them.
What you see here is a selection from that series—one I love deeply and continue to develop.
