Hi friends and fans! Dropping in here to say hi to all the new names following .walker.imagery and ! Hi I’m Tris! The person behind the lens of .walker.imagery. For those of are you new or old here I just wanted to say that Tristine Walker Imagery is more than a portrait and event photography servicer. While we do specialize in creative portraits, headshots, child led family sessions, and events; they are also a community focused studio space. We are open for creative use via affordable rates for time in the space for creatives in need of a space for a few hours here and there. We also host meetups, an art club, and workshops! Along side the portrait studio is a community black and white film darkroom focused on bringing the love of film photography to life in Chicago! If you’d like to support this space, book a session, come to art club, rent some open studio time, or come use the darkroom! Would love to see our community thrive in this space. Hi, my name is Tris Walker a photographer in Albany Park. I run a portrait studio, Tristine Walker Imagery, and do event photography. I have called this place my home for over a decade and I’m so proud of all of the small businesses around here flourishing and I’m excited to continue to grow alongside all of my fellow small businesses here.

🛒My Chicago, small business friends, and I are getting together this week in hopes of encouraging everyone to skip prime week and detox from the big box. 📦

Hi all!

I am currently fundraising so we can maintain the space and grow into the full version of the sensory safe community studio and community darkroom that I wish to bring to Chicago photographers and my community.

I have lived in Albany Park for 12 years and have run my small business here for going on 6 years, with the last two being in an actual studio instead of my dining room. 🙌🏻📸

To continue to grow I need help in the form of donations. I would love to see the community come together to help support this third space that is being created with the intent to bring art, connection, inclusivity, and equity to the areas creative and business communities.

You can support this effort by making a financial donation. But you can also support this effort by hiring me for photography services. I specialize in portraits, of all ages, and event photography. I am located in the Chicago proper, but can make arrangements to travel outside of Chicago.

“An Honest Portrait of an Artist at Montrose Beach” from July 2024.

Trying something a little different on my feed today. I’ve been wanting to share some portraits that aren’t necessarily aimed at building business so to speak. They are moments of connection made while on my personal time.

I’ve been thinking a lot about when I first started photography. I would walk around with my camera all the time and take pictures of everything around me and everyone around me. That is where I found my affinity for portraiture in the realm of photography.

What I see in the moment in this portrait is what I aim to bring to life in any portrait I do for head shots, event photography, and family portraiture. Honest moments where that defensive wall that exists between the camera and a person is gone, and there is a moment a twinkle, a sparkle, a glimmer of that person‘s true self. Portraits where the joy that they hold within their soul expounds itself and translates past the lens into their portrait.

In any fashion that a portrait presents itself in my photography what I have always held deep is that there is a conversation that happens between the Photographer and the “model “. It is a silent conversation. It is a building of trust so that that person feels safe to present themselves unabashedly and without anxiety.

That is what I nurture at my studio and when I am out on set. Cultivated safety is no easy task and I am thankful for all the clients and strangers that trust me and my magic time stopping box.
