A couple weeks ago, I went up to Chicago for annual family photos with a few of the families who have chosen me to document their family journey past age 5, and mostly starting with their engagement. As I’m photographing them, images from past sessions come up in our discussions and they flash into my mind’s eye. I just had to go back and find a few of them and share the then and now.

The power and joy of these little moments and the love they have for each other is a beautiful reminder to hold precious our own families or people who have become our families. It’s one of my favorite things to do and brings me such happiness! Thank you to you wonderful people! More to come this fall…

Had a wonderful time seeing Ellie and Andy again and meeting their new addition Winnie! She was wide-eyed and all smiles! Peirce's love of golf and ants kept us all laughing. So grateful to capture these memories in their family story. Can't wait to come back in August to see so many more families I miss!

So thankful for some time with this wonderful family! They are both growing up so fast and I have been honored to share some fun Forest School adventures with them since they were very little. They are full of love for each other and it shines through all the time. I love all the grandma love this time as well. Thank you all!

Thank goodness for babies and giggles and smiles and love to brighten the days no matter what is going on in the world. Ella sure brightened up my world when I got to see her last. She has grown so much in the last 6 months. Happy birthday sweet girl!!

So wonderful to spend some time out on the farm with this lovely family! They all have such unique personalities and lots of spirit. The first time they have all been photographed since their youngest was born. In a big family, the oldest do a lot to help their younger siblings and the love between them shows that. Thank you Byron family!

It was so great to get out yesterday and do my first social distance friendly photoshoot! Bella's senior pics have been a much anticipated shoot by all. I had the honor of being Bella's photography teacher at our local coop years ago and I have loved watching her skills and talents, including writing and photography, blossom over the years. Many cheers as she heads off to my alma mater, the University of Kentucky in the fall!

So wonderful to be back in Cincinnati to see baby Ella now 6 months old. Her cheeks are just too adorable for words!! We went to the art museum and I was so delighted to hear Andrea share that she and Ella have been to the art museum together many times already! I love sharing art museums with my daughter too so that was pretty awesome! Can’t wait to watch her grow.

Baby Rowan!! I was so excited to see the first bundle of sweetness from this fun and magical couple. Its been a few years since the wedding and they have been all over the world and I am so happy to landed back in Chicago so I could continue their story with their first son. I was so happy to hear that the main objective was fun moments as a family, my favorite! He is a bundle of happy and was a total trooper for his first photo shoot and I am just so happy for them!!

This is a special one...Chad is the oldest son of my best friend from 4th grade. Amazing to be in a place where your kids are having kids who are getting married! I have known Chad since before Chad knew Chad! 😂 He is a sweet, devoted, caring, loyal, uplifting person and he has always been the light of Dawn's life. I am so happy and honored to share some images of his engagement to his love Taylor. I can't wait to celebrate his marriage next fall! These two met in 1st grade! So it was really fun to hang out on the playground where they played together as kids. ❤️

What a gorgeous day in Chicago! So wonderful to spend some time with this wonderful family. Their love for each other glows like the autumn leaves and is evident in each moment of tender guidance, spontaneous fun and loving compassion for each other and the earth! Cooper and I picked up a lot of litter which really warmed my heart! 😂
