As wedding season kicks off, here’s your reminder to embrace the weather on your wedding day. We promise, it’ll be worth it.

Not only are we always prepared for the unpredictable Chicago weather, but we’ve also always had a soft spot for rainy weddings because our own wedding day came with nonstop thunderstorms. Before the ceremony even began, we and our entire wedding party were completely soaked. And yet somehow, those are still some of our favorite memories.

Exploring the city with our closest people, laughing through the chaos, cuddling under umbrellas, and fully surrendering to the day as it unfolded… it was imperfect in the most perfect way.

So if the forecast isn’t what you imagined, take a deep breath. The weather might just become part of the story in the most beautiful way.

Hi, we’re Ed & Aileen.

It’s been a while since we’ve introduced ourselves, so we thought it was time.

We’re the husband-and-wife team behind Ed & Aileen Photography: high school sweethearts, parents to three little ones, and creative partners. We are deeply sentimental, slightly chaotic, and endlessly grateful that this is what we get to do together.

More than ever, we’ve realized that becoming parents has changed the way we see almost everything. It has made us more aware of how quickly time moves, and even more passionate about preserving the people we love in every season. We notice the small things differently now, especially the moments that might feel ordinary in real time, but become everything later.

Our work has always been rooted in presence, emotion, and honest connection. But parenthood has made the “why” behind it feel even stronger. We believe the most beautiful photographs come from giving people space to be fully themselves, and then knowing when to step in, when to step back, and when to simply witness.

This may be an introduction, but more than anything, it’s a thank you.

To our couples, our vendor friends, the families who have trusted us, and every single person who has followed along through the years: thank you. Truly. We don’t take any of this lightly, and we feel incredibly lucky to keep telling stories like yours.

Christine & Jesse // A heartfelt fall wedding in Chicago, beginning with private vows at the South Pond and ending under the warm glow of Café Brauer.

This celebration was full of meaningful moments, including a Native American cedar blessing that brought such a beautiful sense of grounding and intention to the day. Between private vows overlooking the skyline, a wedding party that kept everyone laughing, and candlelit tables tucked inside one of Chicago’s most iconic spaces, every part of this wedding felt personal, elegant, and deeply alive.

This felt like the perfect formula for the best kind of engagement session: running through the streets of SoHo in the rain, city lights coming alive all around us, and the kind of couple who made every second feel effortless and chic. We can’t wait to be back in NYC later this year.

A vibrant Hindu ceremony in the morning, followed by a sleek western ceremony and reception later that same day with each part of the celebration carrying its own distinct beauty while flowing together so seamlessly. We loved the way it moved between traditions and aesthetics with such intention, energy, and ease. And ending the night with fireworks felt like the perfect final note.
