You are not seeing double.

I had a high school senior session with twins recently. This family made a 6 hour trip to the beach for a summer get-a-way, and capitalized on the beach for senior photos for their girls.

While summer is winding down, fall is a great time of year for any outdoor photos. The weather is a bit cooler, the beaches are less crowded, and I am booking sessions.

Imagine the evening of your proposal calling for a 100% chance of rain. I met up with this couple recently as the bluest of blue skies were creeping in from the west. Holy s**t I thought!! We are going to get struck by lightning. Oddly enough, we saw multiple lightning strikes all in the same location far out to sea. Fortunately, this couple were troopers! They were in such good spirits, so fun to work with, and also looked amazing!!

This wonderful family hired me last year, and twice this year to capture photos of their family visiting the beach. As much as I love photographing on the beach, I also love utilizing the boardwalk (if not crowded), and I have always had an affinity for front steps. I utilized all three with this family. I’m still booking a few remaining dates for August and September.

How do you lure your girlfriend down to the beach close to sunrise?

How do you entice her to dress nicely, & coordinate two outfits so early in the morning?

For this couple, it was for a morning date.

His plan was a morning walk on the beach, then a stop at their favorite Crepe shop in .

Little did she know, the morning walk would include a proposal.

What a sweet Proposal!!

Will reached out to me months ago wanting to completely surprise his girlfriend that he is madly in love with.

Unbeknownst to her, he planned for family and friends to meet up at a restaurant afterwards.

I offered a few suggestions on how give her the magic moment she deserves, and to make the moment.

He pulled this off effortlessly, and she was overjoyed!

I took Riley on an early morning adventure walk today. After nine photo shoots in the past six days, finally I have zero shoots today and will be editing. Deep in the woods we were almost chased out by deerflies. On the way out one of the trails turns to sand, and Riley absolutely loves the feel of sand on her feet and gets a little crazy. After probably a five minute jog which turned into an all out sprint, we were both winded, sweaty, and ready to get in the AC of the car. Bath time for both of us.

Engagement Sessions (and proposals) are becoming a much larger part of my photography world than I ever imagined.

Engagement sessions are meant to show the true connection, and unique bond between a couple.

So often, couples are a bit nervous at the beginning of a session. I oftentimes begin with walking, or movement, to break the ice a bit.

Sometimes I will have couples stand face to face and ask one of them to tell the other their favorite memory of them.

I will also ask one to share a funny memory.

I do this to help the couple bond, and create a moment to capture.

This unique session was captured at Mirian Coffin Gardens in Gibraltar.
