Did you know some of the simplest conversations you have with your child are actually helping build their developing brain? 🧠💜

When your little one points at something, makes a sound, asks the 147th question of the morning 😂 or tries to tell you a story — responding and going back-and-forth matters.

🎒 Instead of “How was school?”… try this!

If you’ve ever asked your preschooler, “How was school today?” and gotten…

“Good.” 😂

Try asking something a little more specific:

💛 What made you happy today?
😂 What made you laugh?
🛝 What did you play with outside?
👫 Who did you play with today?
⭐ What was your favorite part of the day?
🤔 Was anything hard today?

Little questions can lead to BIG conversations.

And sometimes the best time to ask isn’t the second they walk through the door. A snack, the car ride home, bath time or bedtime might be when those little stories finally start coming out. ❤️

A simple morning rhythm can make getting out the door feel a whole lot easier:

🪥 Brush teeth
👕 Get dressed
🥣 Breakfast
🎒 Grab the backpack
🚗 Off we go!

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to feel familiar.

Predictable routines can help children feel safe, confident and ready for their day. ❤️

A simple, predictable goodbye routine can help children feel more secure.

Try:
👋 The same goodbye each morning
💛 A special hug, kiss or silly handshake
😊 A confident “Have a great day! I’ll see you after school.”
🚪 And then… go!

Consistency helps little ones learn one of the most important parts of saying goodbye: you always come back.
