With more than 30 years creating unusual art through commissioned and collectible works, I render dreams and ideas to canvas, prints, furniture, and objects to capture and convey personality and spirit.

It has been awhile. I was surprised to learn that many patrons had no idea I started my painting career on three-dimensional objects at a time when I couldn’t afford canvas. Rather than decorate, I treated furniture and tables as if they were canvas, muralizing them. You can see how this piece, derived from Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms, turned out at my website (tinyurl below)

I am excited about creating limited edition metal prints from selections of a one of a kind commission like this . After I finished the table in January, I searched and tested a wide range of options to find the most brilliant method to make prints that are functional as well as decorative, much like the pieces I painted 30 years ago. The four prints taken from this table are the first in a new collection of metal “plates” celebrating 30 years of commissioned creativity, which I will be updating later this week.

Père Tenue Enfant, Father Holding Child, Vessel Series, 2020, digital 2-D sculpture, pulled from a photo of a new father with his infant son, celebrates the relationship as a surreal cornucopia of soft colors and strong movements turns to hug and gently balance on the stillness of its quiet reflection.

During one’s career, an artist will go through many transitions. This one has taken me the longest. In recent years I have let go of my brushes due to changes in my hands, to use lighter tools like pencil on paper and iPad. “Vessels” are my favorite visual expression and “Kilnsugi” pictured here is the first I am posting in this album. The title derived from the Japanese Kintsugi, aptly describes reassembling one’s self, much like gluing together a broken vessel, but adding the heat of discovery. This piece is taken from a painting of mine, others are taken from photos of nature, people, and things. Hopefully, I’ll post more soon. ;)

For me, painting is a conversation with subjects as they come up. The images collected here had many meanings but I finally understood what the painting was relating when the two snails came into the space on either side. They both carry their whole...

An interplay between the balcony shades and one of my favorite pieces, the late day sun glints across the translucent paper that bridges the gaps in the wirework of "Tsuli".
