Meet Ben! 💙

Born in 2020, Ben lost his mom within the first few weeks of his life. Thankfully, our sweet nurse mare Jennifer was there to step in and raise him.

Ben had a promising future as a racehorse, but life had other plans. After being diagnosed with Lyme disease during his training, he faced a long road of rehabilitation, with moments when his survival was uncertain.

But Ben wasn’t giving up!

Last week, Ben started a brand-new career as a fox hunter, beating the odds and winning hearts along the way!

When I started this journey nearly eight years ago, I knew I wanted to do things differently. I didn’t know just how difficult that road would be.

I’ve been told it couldn’t be done. I’ve questioned myself more times than I care to admit. I’ve made sacrifices that most people will never see, all because I believe there is a better way.

Doing the right thing isn’t always the easiest path. It certainly isn’t always the most profitable. But I’ve never believed that the value of something should be measured solely by the money it makes.

These mares deserve better. Our industry can do better. And I hope that one day, doing what’s right becomes the standard, not the exception.

Until then, I’ll keep showing up, even on the hard days. 💜
