Happy Friday!

Next month, Wild Lace turns THREE! It's hard to believe it's been almost three years since I turned this little dream (that I've had for nearly 2 decades) into a business!

If you've been around for a while, you may remember that after I had Logan, I truly thought I would be hanging up my camera. Three babies under three was/is.... a lot. I had convinced myself that running a photography business just wasn't the season of life I was in anymore, that running a business and raising three little ones, with very limited help, simply wasn't going to be possible.

But, once life settled down and I found my footing as a mom of 3 babies, I realized it was possible. I realized how much I missed my clients, the shoots, the work. I missed telling stories and capturing moments that matter most. I realized that my kids would get to watch me do BOTH!

My maternity leave ended up being longer than I anticipated, but we came back!

So, as Wild Lace gets ready to celebrate 3 years, I want to do something special for the people who made it possible! The clients who encouraged me, checked in on me, waited for me, came back to me after months of being gone, and continued to support this little business.

Happy Wednesday! As my business continues to grow (THANK YOU), I've made small adjustments to my session pricing (have you seen the price of SD cards and hard drives?!) and as years pass, I gain more experience, so I want to continue valuing myself and my work.

With that being said, I thought this would be a good time to highlight my maternity milestone collection. If you didn't know, I offer 2 bundle packages for my maternity sessions, I have designed these to capture your journey into parenthood, while also saving a little bit of money along the way!

These collections let you choose the milestones that are most important to you family.

The First Chapter Collection:

If you want more than 3, you can add additional sessions to your collection for $200 each, a discounted rate available exclusively to bundle clients.

If you book The First Chapter Collection, you also receive a discount on a 1 year cake smash session!

Additional information:
Studio fees are not included and will be added before booking.
25% retainer is due at booking and the remaining balance will be divided into equal payments due before each scheduled session.

Stop using images that aren’t yours.

Not “inspo.”
Not “not my photos.”
Not “I found it on Pinterest.”

If you didn’t shoot it, you can’t use it to market yourself. Even with a disclaimer, it’s still false advertising and a copyright issue!!
Clients are booking based on what they see.

I get it. Starting out is hard. You don’t have a full portfolio yet, and it’s tempting to borrow images just to make your page look legit. But those images belong to another photographer who built their business on them.

There are better ways to grow: trade shoots, do styled sessions, second shoot, practice constantly, and build slowly with your OWN work. Even if it feels small at first, it’s yours and that matters tremendously in this line of work.

Your brand should represent your work, not someone else’s. 👏
