My cousin and I joked that we’ve officially reached the age where one of the coolest day trips is touring a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

Since Instagram doesn’t really like mixing horizontal and vertical, these are my vertical photographs of our tour.

As an artist, Fallingwater has been on my bucket list for years, and somehow it’s only about three hours from home. Seeing it in person was even more incredible than I imagined. The way the house becomes part of the waterfall is something you just can’t appreciate until you’re standing there.

One tip if you’re planning a visit: the house itself isn’t ADA accessible. There are over 100 steps, four levels, narrow walkways, and no elevator. If mobility is a concern, you can still enjoy the beautiful grounds and several amazing views of the house from outside.

Some bucket list places really do live up to the hype.
