I just wanted to say thank you.
The amount of support, prayers, messages and shares we’ve received has been overwhelming. When you’re dealing with something completely out of your control, it’s hard to put into words what that kind of support means.
As for Owen, he is progressing the way his doctors are hoping. We still don’t know the extent of the damage or what his recovery will look like. It hasn’t even been a week, so we’re taking this one day at a time—even though somehow it already feels like it’s been months.
Owen has already survived two open-heart surgeries and has spent his adult years as a camp counselor helping kids who have gone through the same heart issues he did. He is genuinely one of the kindest, most lovable kids you could ever meet.
The GoFundMe is helping my brother’s family with the unexpected expenses that come with being away from home and having someone you love hospitalized for an extended period of time. Insurance helps, but as anyone in the U.S. knows, it doesn’t cover everything.
