I love retouching, and it's one of my strengths. But I always believe the best photo starts before I even press the shutter.

Every stage of life has its own unique beauty, but the gentle elegance of middle-aged women carries a glow all its own. When she looks up at her daughter, you can see a light of tender happiness shining through her expression.

For this portrait, I intentionally chose a location with strong leading lines to create a more cinematic, story-driven atmosphere. I carefully styled the wardrobe, hairstyle, and jewelry in advance to ensure every detail complemented the setting perfectly.

For lighting, I used a powerful strobe to darken the background while bringing out the subject, creating depth and focus. A reflector was placed to the side to bounce fill light back onto her, adding softness and enhancing her graceful presence.

Shot with a wide-angle lens to create a dramatic, cinematic effect. Inspired by a post-apocalyptic wasteland aesthetic—something I grew to love from watching Fallout with my husband—I wanted to capture the contrast between futuristic beauty and decayed destruction. The combination of an advanced, stylish model against a harsh ruined backdrop makes every visual contrast even more powerful to me.

For lighting, I used a softbox with a honeycomb grid as the main light, plus an LED light behind the model to create a striking rim light on her hair. Huge thanks to my beautiful model for absolutely bringing this vision to life—she nailed every pose I required. Who wouldn’t love this adorable little robot?

She is the spring.

This award-winning portrait was created using a 90cm softbox with a honeycomb grid, focused only on the subject to keep the background in a darker, moody tone. On the right side, my assistant held a small LED light for a subtle fill.

I started with the model in mind—her unique strength is her beautiful figure, and I wanted to highlight it to the fullest. The concept was inspired by the classical painting “The Source.”

I carefully planned her outfit and hairstyle, and brought a vase as a prop, filled with water on set. Huge thanks to my beautiful model Atrisa .hojabr who patiently poured the water again and again throughout the shoot.

In the end, the image tells a simple story:
a beautiful girl by the river, pouring water—
she is her own source, needing nothing from anyone.
