Leaving Dead Horse Point State Park in Moab Utah for Salt Lake City. This is our second time here. No pics of flat, level W/E site. Dump Station available.

Beautiful views, dark sky park, close to Arches, Canyonlands and Moab. One of my favorite state parks although it gets really hot here . Next 3 days high 90s. We were here for 3 nights $240.

Early morning jaunt to Canyonlands National Park ... A couple hikes in earlier this morning. If you are going to any of the National Parks in Utah ..get up and go early!!! If not trying to find parking, the crowds and midday heat will do you in.

Snippets of Arches National Park .. got there early but still hot and in some areas busy. It is an amazing park and we were able to see a couple areas of the park we missed in 2020.

Afterward lunched in Moab at the Food Truck Park that has much needed misting.

Today we (I sadly) left Cannonville in Bryce Valley. We headed to a favorite campground Dead Horse State Park in Moab Utah where we are surrounded by more Utah beauty! We did take a short hike around the area after a long drive.

Last two days left in Bryce Valley have been busy getting more hikes in. I will be sad 😔 to leave here but am looking forward to going back to the Moab area.

Yesterday we hiked 4.8 miles on the Sheep Creek/Swamp Canyon Trail in Bryce. It was a challenge as we hiked the trail clockwise instead of the easier counter clockwise 😂 but had beautiful scenery and hoodoos. Path was rocky and narrow in spots. (First 13 pics)

Today we hiked the Pink Ledges/Birds Eye View Trail in Red Canyon. Paths were narrow but not as rocky as yesterday's so it was easier. Great views, rock formations and hoodoos. There were Ponderosa Pines along the trail whose park smells like butterscotch/vanilla. I smelled butterscotch.

Today rain was forecasted (😂😂) and before the few rain drops appeared we took a morning hike (3.8 miles) on the Panorama Trail in Kodachrome Basin State Park. It was a nice hike with off shoots to view areas of interest.

There are also a couple campgrounds, different trails (we've done the Angel Palace Trail in 2020), laundry, Visitor Center and restrooms in this awesome state park.

Day 4 with 4 events ~ a ride on a jeep road Hole in the Rock with cows to Devils Garden, a visit to Harriet's shop Serenidad in Escalante Utah, a visit to the Mercantile in Escalante for sandwiches to eat at the Escalante Heritage Center. Tonight is the rodeo.

Devil's Garden is a real treat and worth the 12 mile off road with cows.

It was good to see Harriet who we met in 2020 at a Bible Study in Tropic Utah. She is a fabulous artist who runs her little shop Serenidad next to her home. She gave us a tour of her home which is filled with family artwork and unique windows etc. For lunch the Mercantile has huge to go sandwiches which we ate while reading the history of the Mormon settlement in this area.

Day 3 Bryce Valley/Escalante

Willis Creek Slot Canyon ... Did Over 5 miles out and back. There was some water in the canyon but not a hindrance and since there was no chance of rain it was a good day to do a slot.

We often see cows on the roads here.
