Ok sometimes I get obsessed with my own images 😅 I had the pleasure of photographing Aubrey last week. She’s a wonderful photographer from Parker - it’s always awesome working with another photographer and bouncing ideas off each other. Near the end of the session, I wanted to do some close up, shallow depth of field portraits with my Sigma Art 50mm lens, and the way her eyes sparkle and her hair blows in the wind just makes my heart happy.

Personal branding sessions are an amazing way to show the creator behind the art. In this case, it’s Brandi from Brandi Chic Art - a contemporary artist from Colorado Springs that specializes in vibrant, colorful, textured fine art paintings. I absolutely loved photographing Brandi and seeing her in her element - she’s so passionate about her work and it was a joy to create these images for her!

Had such a fun afternoon last week doing a quick personal branding photography session for the wonderful Kelsee over at Good Intentions (https://www.goodintentionscos.com/). Good Intentions is a local fragrance and candle company that uses only natural ingredients that are good for you and the planet. Kelsee wanted images that were creative, fun and professional, and that showed the real person behind the business. If you’re local to Colorado Springs, you can purchase her beautiful products at Eclectic CO downtown. Her products are also stocked at 30 stores nationwide!

Thanks to Kindle for the lovely studio space! It was my first time using the studio and while the weather didn’t cooperate (thunderstorms!) we still managed to get some beautiful images 🧡

Fun fact - we shot this entire set in about 5 minutes before the sun went down completely. I thought we were going to have to reshoot but they turned out perfectly 😍 I love the softness and emotion in these images - something we really wanted to get across to emulate the character.

‘Tony’ - from the creative portrait series Montana. ❤️ Edward channeling Tony Montana in the BEST way 🔥 We shot this in the middle of the night to avoid crowds and it worked out perfectly. Photographing at night is new for me but I knew we wanted that gritty film look so was able to bump up my ISO and get all that lovely grain. Also, there is no color editing on this - the light really was that red - couldn’t have found a better location.

‘Sosa’- from the creative portrait series Montana. 🧡 When we first shot this, I doubted the whole session. Something just felt like it was off. I took a break from looking at the photos for a few days and saw them in a new light and fell in love! Funny how that can happen. It’s one of the main reasons I never delete any images from a session - looking at them days, weeks or months later can really change your perspective. These are now some of my favorite images from our Scarface series, Montana.

I've had a few people over the years ask for prints, so have finally organized a print store 🙂 I'll gradually update this with more photographs, but so far there's images from Morocco, Italy, Germany and California.
