I treated myself to an evening stroll to walk off the corned beef and cabbage yesterday. The birds were out in full force, which was nice, but so were the bugs! In the second photo you can see the red-winged blackbird aiming its beak at a small cluster of mosquitoes. 🦟 🐦‍⬛

One of the perks of winter is being able to see all the hawks perched in bare trees. They are everywhere! I snapped this one in front of our local high school. There’s open space across the street teeming with prairie dogs, so no shortage of food.
