I managed to capture these in late July before the sunflowers welted away at the University of Missouri South farm location in Columbia, Missouri. The good news is that we should have another round of sunflowers next month! I used off camera flash for all of these pictures to make sure that I had great lighting for some detail shots! Enjoy!

I got a good one of Xavier tonight. We took the boys to the sunflower field, and they would not stay still long enough to get a decent picture (I tried). We finally figured out a way to get Xavier to hold still for a bit! We just had to give him something to do in front of the camera (Notice the Hay)! Anyway, now he thinks he is ready for the big screen! Enjoy!

I am offering a Mini Session this upcoming Thursday at the University of Missouri South Farm Location in the sunflower field. It will start at 7:00 pm and proceed until sundown. I recommend planning on being there for roughly 90 minutes so we can rotate in and out between four groups/families. I want to give everyone multiple looks/lighting styles to choose from! I am hoping to make it out to The Pinnacles this weekend sometime and have been going through some of my pictures there. I've always loved this picture. It shouldn't work because of all of the hard light, but because of the way the limbs are layered around the sunlight on the rock in the back it just adds something extra. Here are the rest of the photos from Shelter Gardens today in Columbia, Missouri. I left the house a little after the best light but I still wanted to try to make the most of the day. It had been too long since I have been able to get some new shots! I decided to work with a lighter load today so these are all handheld pictures using my 24-105mm F4 L series lens. Hopefully I can get back to using my tripod soon once my shoulder and back are better. Until then, I hope you enjoy these!
