And by essentials, I mean a 3 lb emotional support lens - AKA the giant concealed dumbbell all the way to the right 😂

That's my 70–200mm, and there’s a reason it earns a spot in my bag. It lets me zoom in and capture close, intimate moments while physically staying farther away, which is HUGE for weddings, photographing shy little ones, events, or anytime I want people to forget I’m there and just be themselves.

This lens creates that beautiful compression you see in a lot of my portraits, probably too many of my portraits 🫣 It pulls the background in, makes it look softer and dreamier, and really separates the person I’m photographing from everything happening behind them.

Fun fact: Newborn portraits are best planned while they’re still brand new! Ideally within the first week. Those first few days are perfect for capturing all the teeny-tiny details that change way too fast.
