It’s been really fun getting a front-row seat in the studios to see how these Future Icons choreograph new works over the past few weeks.

One of the coolest parts of documenting new work is getting to see it while it’s still being figured out, ideas developing in real time, dancers trying to morph their bodies into new ways of movement, choreographers coaching to bring their vision to life, and, little by little, the whole thing starts to come together. It's exciting and inspiring to see people working together towards a common goal with enthusiasm and curiosity, all for the sake of creating something that might help us see the world through someone else’s eyes and maybe bring us all a little closer together in the process.

If you’re around Columbus, OH, 9/10–9/13, come be part of something that’s real, happening now, and still becoming.

Elite Studio of Dance became one of my first "real" clients, back around 20 years ago. (Photo evidence included.)

Neither of us knew where the next twenty years would lead. Since then, they've trained generations of dancers. I've spent two decades documenting stories through photography and film.

Somehow, we're both still doing what we love.

LOOK WHO'S TURNING 20 🎉

This month marks 20 years since I officially launched my business.

Over the last two decades, I've had the privilege of photographing and filming thousands of people, performances, businesses, families, artists, nonprofits, and milestones. I've watched newborns grow into adults, dancers become professionals, startups become established companies, and families write entire chapters of their lives in front of my camera.

If we've worked together at any point over the last 20 years, I'd love to hear from you.

Comment with the year we met, tag yourself in a photo I've taken, or share a favorite memory from our time working together.

I'd love to spend this month celebrating the people who made these 20 years possible.
