I thought I would do a little introduction about myself especially with all you new followers.
Hi I’m Michaela or as the littles in my life and mostly my family affectionately call me Mich. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, at least 25 years. I took my first picture when I was around 4 years old, my mom has that picture in one of our scrapbooks🤣 I have always loved and still love looking at old pictures and listening to people tell the stories behind the pictures. I hope that I can help capture peoples stories for them. I love being able to capture the beauty of even the smallest things, like trash washed up on the beach or fresh water droplets from the latest rainfall on a flower. My absolute favorite things to take pictures of are my many loved ones especially my amazing nieces, nephews and my sweet son, their smiles make the days worth everything.
I figured I would tell you a little about myself. I have had a bit of a health rollercoaster for the last 11 years of my life, more specifically the last 8 years. In June of 2018 I was on life support for a week, I don’t remember most of that time, I do remember the constant thought of not being able to go back to working at my usual pace. Turns out I couldn’t so I started taking pictures again, mostly just on my phone. Then I had my absolutely amazing son Jack and I was constantly taking pictures of him, I still take pictures of him all the time. Fast forward 7 years and I’m facing a divorce and life as I knew it completely imploding. So here I was at almost 29 years old having absolutely no idea what to do with my life when I picked my camera back up and fell completely in love again. All of the sudden I felt like my high school self saying “I want to be a photographer when I grow up." The biggest difference being I have the absolute biggest hype men in the world 1000% believing I can do this, my magical son and my fantastic boyfriend. I am constantly hearing Jack say “mom take a picture of the sky, this flower, that car, Layla girl (our husky), me!"
So if you all stuck around to read all that welcome to the family, we’re a bit crazy around here but it's never boring. Thank you for joining me in my crazy journey, I can’t wait to see where I go from here! Let’s have some fun!!
