This year, for my birthday, I had just one request from my family... let me take our family photos. 🤍
I've been behind the camera for more than 10 years, capturing so many beautiful milestones for other families. But believe it or not, this is only the third time I've taken my own family's photos.
Every time we do, I look around and realize how much has changed. The kids are taller, personalities have grown, new family members have joined us, and our story continues to unfold.
Photography has taught me something I don't think I'll ever stop believing: photos become more valuable with time.
Right now, they're beautiful images. Years from now, they'll be memories. They'll remind our children of where they came from, who loved them, and the moments that made up their childhood. They'll see grandparents, cousins, siblings, and the people who surrounded them with love.
The truth is, families don't stay the same forever. Children grow up. People move away. Life gets busy. And sometimes, we lose the people we love. When that happens, photographs become one of the few ways we can go back and relive those moments.
That's why I believe family photos are so important. Not because everyone needs perfect outfits or the perfect location, but because your story deserves to be remembered.
Whether you choose me as your photographer or someone else, my hope is simply that you make the time. Get in the frame. Be present. Capture this season of life exactly as it is.
One day, those photos won't just be for you—they'll be one of the greatest gifts you leave for your children.
Hold your loved ones close, make the memories, and don't wait for "someday."
