At her center rests the ship’s wheel, adorned with delicate mayflowers, symbolizing the beauty and resilience that bloom throughout her journey.

Handcrafted with over 75 layers of books, the skirt symbolizes the library’s earliest collections, including the first map of the state from 1784 and the original Civil War records. Her backpack represents the New Hampshire Supreme Court’s 1895 decision supporting public libraries, while the bookshelf-inspired hat honors the library’s vast literary collection.

Mrs New England’s State Costume 🦞

From the oceans of New England — she’s a redhead, she’s a lobster, and frankly, after a few hours in the sun there’s not much difference. Sara Beth is wearing a red gown representing what New England is known for, the Maine lobster! Lobsters never stop growing, so while she may be petite for the runway, she’s actually MASSIVE — for a lobster.

Petite in stature, but big in personality, she’s got the claw strength to back it up. She’s clawed her way to nationals and she’s snapping up her shot at being the next Mrs. Petite USA!
