These photos feel so much like me, Elaine Freitas. Let me introduce myself again for the new followers.
They were taken by my dear friend Luciana during one of our lavender farm collaborations. I’m usually the one behind the camera, so it was such a gift to slow down, enjoy the moment, and let someone else capture me.
When I look at these images, I see the person I am at heart. Someone who loves people, loves life, and feels incredibly grateful to do work that has so much meaning, photography.
For over 17 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing families as they grow, welcoming tiny newborns into the world, and creating memories that become part of their legacy. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing these photographs will be treasured long after today.
Another joy of my work is photographing women. I love helping them see the beauty I already see in them. Being part of that moment is one of the things I love most about my work.
I believe every season of life deserves to be remembered. The big milestones matter, but so do these quiet, beautiful days that pass by so quickly.
Thank you, Luciana Calvin for capturing this sweet hot summer day in the lavender and for photographing me in such a genuine way. These images remind me that sometimes it’s good to step in front of the camera too.
I’d love to know what you see when you look at these photos. Photography is so personal, and every image tells a different story depending on who’s looking at it.
What do these photos say to you? I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments.
