Today we are featuring class of 2026's Grayson Farrell! Grayson had a great spring session with gorgeous lighting. I had a hard time picking favorites for this post! We had gorgeous scenery with Trophy Point, the Supt's Garden, Douglas MacArthur's statue, and more. All of my sessions have some "standard" poses but I also add a touch of personalization based on your preferences, any props you might have, and of course it's my main job to follow the sun and play with light!

If you want photos like these to commemorate your cadet's time at West Point, please reach out soon! After yesterday's post I am about 75% booked up for this fall. I have many people ask if I'm booking for future years and the answer is yes! If you sign your contract now, even for a class of 2030 grad, you will lock in current pricing.

Welcome back to school, West Pointers! I'm about halfway booked up for this fall's Firstie sessions and I hope lots of you get to see this post so we can spread the word and fill up our schedule. As I always say, it is my absolute JOY to work with these amazing young adults getting ready for the end of their West Point Cadet journey. It is my honor to capture these photos and present the highest quality digital images, albums, and wall art to the families who supported their Cadet through it all.

Hi everyone! I have a happy announcement to make. I know I’ve been pretty quiet on here since graduation; mostly because of it being summertime, so I’m full-time momming. But also…because I was planning a wedding! Phil and I tied the knot yesterday during an intimate elopement with just our parents and kids at West Point. Here are just a few photos from last night. We had a gorgeous orange glow in the sky (from wildfire smoke, but still) and it was a perfect little ceremony. I will be back to my regular schedule and preparing for Ring Weekend and fall Firstie sessions now!

Also I did change my name to Megan Helm, but for now I’m still deciding what I’ll do to the business name/brand, so I’ll remain Megan Cardone Photography until further notice.

Family Sessions!!! I'd like to take a moment to welcome my new followers and highlight my passion for capturing family moments. While this gorgeous session took place last fall, summer brings a different kind of lush green backdrop, so we can also incorporate locations with floral blooms to add color and texture. Many clients find our on-post sessions to be the most convenient, but I offer flexible shooting locations off-post as well!

For this stunning session with newly commissioned 2nd Lieutenant Anna Hennigan, we were treated to a picturesque backdrop of gorgeous blooms in the Superintendent's lush garden. And what made the day even more special was a surprise visit from her younger brother, who is also a proud West Point cadet, making the moment even more memorable for the entire family! CONGRATS to Anna on this incredible achievement and best wishes to her on her next adventure as she begins this exciting new chapter in her military career!

I couldn't create a sky like this if I tried!! Then Cadet- but now 2LT- (Patrick) Patch Dolan's session took us all around post- we did the classic shots at Trophy Point, then went to the Catholic Chapel and Michie Stadium for some special shots. Patch's family lives locally so his mom and sweet puppy were able to join us too!! Patch, a law major at WP, was also the West Point Lacrosse team manager! Talk about a busy schedule! HUGE CONGRATS to the Hudson Valley's newest 2nd Lieutenant, Patch Dolan!

Congrats to all the grads who commissioned to 2nd Lieutenant last Saturday! I am still getting caught up on editing, so no photos from graduation quite yet, but here is a beautiful session from a few weeks ago with Vincent (Vin) Povarchuk and his family! Always a joy to involve family when possible. I'm so glad they could make the trip. Please help me congratulate Vin and wish him luck on his next adventure!!

It’s officially Graduation Weekend!!! I’m so excited to see everyone this weekend and capture these happy moments for you. Huge congrats to this handsome Firstie, cadet Owen Li, as he wraps up his West Point journey. We had a gorgeous sunny evening for his session so we made the most out of the sunny lens flares.

A note to my clients who have not yet
received their galleries: I am still recovering from my bike accident and the pain from my concussion does not allow me to look at the computer screen for more than 30 minutes at a time, so things will move a little more slowly while I work on wrapping up edits. I’m sorry and I will at minimum get sneak peeks out to you so you have something to post/share. Thank you for understanding!

Another insanely colorful session from late last fall! Cadet Rob Ferris was captain of the golf team at West Point. He branched Field Artillery and will be headed to Ft. Campbell. I also remember Rob having a great sense of humor and a great attitude- excellent characteristics for a great leader! Rob will graduate in just 3 DAYS and become a 2nd Lieutenant! Congrats Rob!!!
